Innovation in Identity: PSD2, Open Banking, and Strong Authentication

In this KNOW Identity Forum, we are heading to London with our partners Uniken, to dive into the intersection of digital identity and PSD2.

PSD2, the second Payment Services Directive, has fundamentally changed the financial services landscape. Introduced by the EU, PSD2 will “break down the bank’s monopoly on their user’s data” according to TransferWise. PSD2 went into affect in September 14th, however, financial institutions are still struggling with some core challenges. In this KNOW forum, we will dive into some of these most pressing obstacles, including:

1. Strong Authentication. With the deadline moved to December 31st 2020, companies have the opportunity to strategically plan for strong authentication. Come to this KNOW forum to learn more about what are some approaches entities are taking to meet this requirement, what has worked, what hasn’t?

2. What are the most exciting trends we are seeing in open banking services that have been enabled by PSD2?

3. How are risk and fraud teams responding to a financial system infrastructure in a post-PSD2 world?

4. What does PSD2 mean for the rest of the world? Do we think the EU is a bellwether for other countries for expectations to come in the near future?

PSD2 is just a window into a more global trend, putting customers first and emphasizing innovation and security. With more identity data than ever available to digital challengers, legacy institutions must innovate to survive.
